I serve as the Senior Pastor of The Crossing, which is a fancy title that means I get the privilege of serving people and helping them discover the gifts God has made available to bring hope, growth and transformation into their lives. My journey to this role has come through a diverse background of life experiences. I have been an Operations Superintendent in the Petro-Chemical industry, a volunteer fire chief, an associate pastor, the Administrator of a Christian School, and now a church planter. Sometimes I am amazed at how God has worked in my life to get me to this place in this season of life.
I am married to Margie, my high school sweetheart. I met her when I was fifteen while volunteering at a summer program for children. When she walked in the door and I saw her for the first time, I thought she was the cutest girl I had ever seen and I knew I wanted to get to know her. We married while in college, and now, after 38 years of marriage I am still enjoying walking side-by-side with her into all the adventures God leads us into.
I have a verse in the Bible that I seek to live out as a model for my walk in life and in ministry. It is found in Philippians 2:3-5 ESV, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,”
When we are not serving people, you might find us at Starbucks enjoying a extra strong Chai Latte and running into people to talk to or pray with. Or if we are at home, our favorite activity is spending time with our grandchildren, Malinda and Sam. We have a great time planting flowers and vegetable gardens, catching bugs and lizards and getting to see share the sense of adventure in the lives of small children.
The Crossing is more than our church, it is our extended family. We have had the privilege of meeting, and serving with, some amazing people. We are not a perfect church made up of perfect people; we are a group of seekers who are on a journey to discover the beauty that God desires to reveal in our lives.
